    • What keeps this from "tipping" if the load isn't evenly distributed and the load sliding off onto whatever is below?

      Basic safe operating procedure when operating any lift,Ā  and this is in the industrial world as well as the private sector, you want to make sure your load is balanced as much as possible, stable and not going to shift.Ā  This means you may need to tie it down if you feel that is needed to keep it from shifting just like you would when hauling something on the roof of your car or the back of a pick up truck.

    • what is the distance between the ceiling and the bottom of the platform when things are on the platform

      Approx 38"

    • Can the cables be extended so that the platform can go through the bottom floor of the attic area?

      No, it is not designed to be an attic elevator.

    • Can this be mounted on a slanted ceiling? It would be perpendicular to the angle.

      No, it will not function properly if it is mounted to a surface that is not horizontal to the ground.Ā  It has been installed by some customers with slanted ceilings, however they provide their own adapter so that the lift is actually horizontal to the ground.

    • how much space is needed when tight to the ceiling? 3-4"?

      The lift bar is approx 14 inches from the top of the ceiling when all the way up.

    • Can the platform and lift assembly be sized to go into the attic through the typical 24inch wide ceiling joists? My platform would be 24 inch by 36 inch.

      No, the platform only comes in one non adjustable size.

    • This may be a stupid question but, here goes: Will this lift my Cub Cadet 24 inch Gas Snow Blower?

      You need to find out how much your cadet weighs.Ā  This lift has a working load limit of 220 PDS.

    • Can you share the differences in models #66069K and GG8220PL?

      There is no physical difference.Ā  One is the old SKU# when Garage Gator was a stand alone company.Ā  The other is the new SKU# that the product was given when it was acquired by ProSlat.Ā  It is the same product either way.

    • Where are they made, and is there a break to prevent the lift from losing lift while suspended?

      They are currently imported from China.Ā  The load will not come down in case of a power loss.

    • so when not in use, where does the cable/cord go? does it just hang? there are no photos of this part of the package. thank you

      Typically, people attach a hook on a wall and have the pendant pulled over against that to keep it out of the way.

    • Do you have a lift that can handle more than 200 pounds?

      Right now Garage Gator just has the one weight capacity.

    Excellent Lift

    Overall, I really like the lift. The directions were complete with the exception of a couple additional items being provided that were not a part of the instructions. It was easy to determine what they were for so it was not an issue. I do have an issue with the mounting bolts. A drill bit was provided with the kit to drill pilot holes, it was necessary to drill larger holes as I had 4 of the anchor bolts snap. I feel that the cost to provide higher quality bolts would improve customer experience and minimally impact the profit margin. I also purchased a rack with the motor. One of the steel cables slipped through the crimped ends causing the items to fall. Granted, I was stress testing prior to pulling all the way up to the ceiling so there was no damage other than the faulty cable and one of the carabiners, which were also very cheap quality. I decided to make my own cables and upgraded the carabiners. I am currently stress testing at the highest recommended weight for the past two weeks with no further issues.
